New Signs & Monon Trail Edge Progress
There’s a lot happening at Marott Woods!
Over the last few weeks, our talented volunteers have created and installed a series of new signs around the Preserve. The new trailhead signs share the Preserve's rules of use and a QR code for our website.
Andy Fry contributed his talent for design and Tom Laird, a former woodworking teacher at The Indianapolis Art Center, was a huge help with installation. We are pleased that this project was completely custom-made by neighborhood artists with the western red cedar donated by member David Carter and installed by our neighborhood scout troop, #174. Thank you, everyone!
Next up are five smaller 4x8 signs at the more minor trailheads. Keep an eye out for those and let us know what you think of the signs!
In other Preserve news, the Department of Public Works made progress on our efforts along the Monon Trail Edge. DPW pushed back the encroaching vegetation on the side of the trail, making it wider, safer, and more beautiful. They also installed two trash cans at the 75th street entrance. Thank you to everyone for helping us keep the area clean!
